And so we say goodbye to another month in 2012 and the old format ‘Week In Review’ and welcome the first new ‘TGA In Review’, a periodic update (probably once a month) talking about what was, is, and will be happening at Perth’s best gaming club. Let’s not waste a moment because hot damn we have some stuff to cover!

ERADICATION
Anyone who is a Warhammer Fantasy fan will know that Eradication, Elarti Games’ two day TGA Fusion Initiative tournament was a massive hit. While others enjoyed their various game systems the whirlwind in the middle of TGA Central’s main hall was Warhammer Fantasy all the way.

ARCANE DESTRUCTION 4
Yes that’s right folks, in August one of Perth’s most iconic Warhammer Fantasy events is back for its fourth year. This time the points value is pumped to a very respectable 2000 points AND Storms Of Magic is now included as an option! So, not only do you have THREE choices of Arcane Disciple but expect your opponents to throw all manner of Fulcrums and beasts not normally seen on the battlefield.
Tickets for this extremely entertaining spin on Warhammer Fantasy are available now. With five tickets sold on the day of announcement it is looking to be one great day of gaming. We have a painting challenge at TGA from now until the tournament so keep an eye out about that too.

BAD THINGS HAPPEN
Unless you have been living under a rock for the past two months you will know that Malifaux fans are all buzzing about this upcoming Malifaux tournament. With over 15 players taking part in the campaign at TGA Central this tournament is looking to be big. With no miniatures WYSIWYG/Brand restrictions, or having a painted crew to play you have complete freedom to take your favourite miniatures to this one. Get the player pack and do it quick because you only have a few weeks to get your tickets and submit your lists!

GRINDING GEARS 2012
The campaign continues at TGA for Dream Pod 9’s fantastic skirmish scale mecha tabletop miniatures game. We now have four players closely matched points wise so the battles are bound to get more fierce. The campaign is due to end the same weekend TGA hosts Perth’s first ever Heavy Gear tournament:

BORDER PATROL 2012
TGA North will host this fast paced three game tournament which will see a single combat group from each player do battle across a variety of Terra Nova’s locations in the form of custom built terrain.

Speaking of custom terrain TGA has started a new club feature:

PIMP MY TERRAIN
It's not just painting miniatures and playing in tournaments at TGA. Without the time and effort put into terrain we would all be playing on a flat table cloth, and that is just boring. So, what better to get the creative juices flowing than a bit of good old terrain building competition. Plus, this helps the club to expand the range of already awesome terrain to offer everyone who attends each week.
The first challenge is set to begin on Sunday, 16th April.

TGA SPECIAL GUEST: TOM WEBB, CEO OF STEEL CROWN PRODUCTIONS
In the second half of April 2012 TGA will host a visit from Tom Webb, CEO of Steel Crown Productions based out of the UK who make a fantastic range of high quality 6mm products and more recently 28mm scale as well. Tom will be making a special trip to TGA to speak with anyone interested in learning about the company, miniature fabrication, and also listening to ideas for new products that people would love to have but are not available. If you are interested in this then stay tuned here for the exact dates and get your ideas on paper so you don’t forget! WOW!

TGA BATTLETECH CAMPAIGN 2012
A massive map of the Inner Sphere consisting of thousands of planets dominates a wall at TGA Central, and you can join in with those already carving out a realm for themselves.

BattleTech by Catalyst Games Labs brings massive 12 metre tall humanoid engines of destruction to TGA with the help of myself and the extremely talented Adam ‘Tarinas’ Lacco, the only other Western Australian registered Catalyst Games Labs Demo Team Member.

PATHFINDER SOCIETY - PERTH
As a special event for April Fools' Day, our newest best friends from the Perth Pathfinder Society hosted the very peculiar module 'We Be Goblins'. There was no need to bring a character for this one as pre-generated goblin characters were provided. Here is the background for the adventure:
The Licktoad goblins of Brinestump Marsh have stumbled upon a great treasure - fireworks! Yet unfortunately for them, the tribe member responsible for the discovery has already been exiled for the abhorrent crime of writing (which every goblin knows steals words from your head).
To remedy this situation, the Licktoads’ leader, His Mighty Girthness Chief Rendwattle Gutwad, has declared that the greatest heroes of the tribe must venture forth to retrieve the rest of the fireworks from a derelict ship stranded in the marsh. In order to prove themselves as the Licktoads’ bravest goblins, the PCs must complete a series of dangerous dares, from swallowing bull slugs and braving the dreaded Earbiter to dancing with Squealy Nord himself.
Yet even once they’ve proven their mettle, the adventure is just beginning. For the ship in question is far from uninhabited, and Vorka the cannibal goblin would like nothing better than a few tasty visitors....
Goblins chew and goblins bite.
Goblins cut and goblins fight.
Stab the dog and cut the horse,
Goblins eat and take by force!
Goblins race and goblins jump.
Goblins slash and goblins bump.
Burn the skin and mash the head,
Goblins here and you be dead!
Chase the baby, catch the pup.
Bonk the head to shut it up.
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed,
We be goblins! You be food!
It was a great success!

GAMES WORKSHOP CLEARANCE
Later this month TGA will announce a big day at TGA Central where we will have a bunch of Games Workshop boxed sets and blisters marked to clear. We will not be listing what is available as it is a ‘first come, first served’ gets the choice items kind of thing. We are almost done organising it all so keep an eye on the TGA forums to know when it is happening. Remember, each filled out Loyalty Card gets you a further $4.00 off per card which is even more fantastic value. Phwoar!
TGA – GET AMONGST IT!
